early days of Wellington's electric trams

A postcard dated 1905 taken in Lambton Quay between the intersections with Panama and Grey streets.  As those who have the book Wellington Transport Memories know, the electric trams began in 1904.  The road number looks like 18.

Wellingtonians will recognise the most distant building as the then headquarters of long time printers, publishers and booksellers Whitcombe & Tombs and the only building facade in this scene which still exists.
